I have a few things to say about turkey: If it was really good, we would eat it more than once or twice a year. Every year, all the magazines come out with special techniques to make a good turkey, because they're hardly foolproof. If you have to work so hard to make it turn out well, why not eat something else? Salmon, now there's something that is easy to cook, virtually always tastes good, and doesn't take all day to cook. I think you had the right idea, vegetarian or not.
